ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM INSTALLATION USING KANTECH
A RECENT INSTALLATION BY NEXTECHNOLOGIES IN SURREY, BC
SCOPE OF WORK
The builder did not think to put in an access control system so the installation was a retro-fit and we had to figure out how to neatly get all the wiring from point A to B without causing any damage and making everything blend in like it was already there in the first place.
Because this amenity room only required 1 entry door to be turned into an access control door we chose to go with the Kantech KT-1 controller being that it is very affordable, it is expandable if need be, and it does not require expensive software it can be simply managed with any web browser. This helped to simplify things and cut cost for the client.
SOLUTION
We chose to go with a pinpad access door reader because then it is possible to grant access using fobs or using a code. There are 83 townhomes so 83 fobs were issued to the residence and a general 4 digit access code was provided for emergency services and trades. This way, if there is every a disaster like a water leek and the manager is unable to be on site, he may provide them temporary access with the code without the need to go to site.
We also installed 3 security cameras to cover the amenity building in the case anyone ever causes damage to the building the strata council can charge that person for the cost of the repairs.
